Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. She has been praised for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her film Piano earned her an Oscar. Actresses have a long career of involvement in Broadway as well as Off-Broadway initiatives. When she was a kid, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth year show. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of mumps but did not let this disability dampen her desire to be an actress. While in college, she studied drama after which she relocated to New York City with her plans in mind. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and they worked together to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. When she moved to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find movie roles. The role of a supporting actress was secured for her in Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, since she was a part of the film she has appeared involved in numerous TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
